Architect Internship in Bayt Ras

USAID SCHEP is offering a special opportunity for early-career architects and designers! We are looking for a qualified student or recent graduate to help develop the design of an Open Learning Environment for meetings, trainings, and other events in Bayt Ras, Irbid.


The Internship:

The selected candidate will work with the USAID SCHEP team to develop a design for a new Open Learning Environment (OLE) in Bayt Ras. The initial internship period is one month, with the possibility to extend for two additional months. The chosen candidate will receive a stipend of 200 Jordanian Dinars for their work, and USAID SCHEP will issue a certificate acknowledging the designer’s participation in the project.



The Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project (SCHEP), is a USAID project implemented by the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) that uses a unique methodology for preserving, managing and promoting cultural heritage resources in Jordan through a community-first approach. The project began in 2014 and will continue until 2022.


About the OLEs:

USAID SCHEP is supporting the establishment of three CHR Open Learning Environments (OLE) to serve as locations for hands-on professional training courses and programs, awareness and education activities, and conferences. These spaces, to be located in Amman, Bayt Ras, and Wadi Rum, will bolster the ability of the Jordanian heritage sector to preserve, protect and manage CHRs across Jordan.


Who can apply:

Fresh graduates and students specializing in architecture. Only residents of Bayt Ras or greater Irbid are eligible for the internship.
