About USAID SCHEP:
USAID SCHEP is a four year USAID project that aims to foster
community and economic development through training and utilizing best
practices in cultural heritage preservation and management.
USAID SCHEP is
implemented by The American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR).
USAID SCHEP employs a holistic approach for conducting cultural
resource management by utilizing a grassroots social engagement model that
emphasizes the local communities as the primary stakeholders in cultural
heritage preservation. In addition to SCHEP supported cultural heritage sites,
SCHEP works to build capacity for university students and recent graduates who
wish to pursue careers in the field.
About Training:
The training aims to provide the essential knowledge useful to surveying
and documentation. In particular, it is fundamental to transmit the knowledge
of the general issues connected with survey and documentation to the personnel
in charge of the decision-making aspects on field.
Training will cover topics such as introduction to surveying,
introduction to archaeological documentation, basics of tape surveying, tape
measurement applications, mapping with measuring tape, tape measurement
applications in archaeological excavations, introduction to leveling, angles in
surveying, bearings & surveying computations and traverses.
Training will held at the American Center of Oriental Research in
Amman from March 31, to April 5, 2018.
Desired Qualifications:

Recent graduate majoring in Archaeology, Cultural Resources
Management, Conservation or any related field.

Good written and spoken Arabic
and English.
